ANNOUNCEMENTS

6/2/10 The South Atlantic Fire Rescue Expo will be held at the Raleigh Convention Center August 11 - 14. The Association will be needing volunteers to help throughout the event. Participants will be given a conference pass and a T-shirt. Anyone interested in volunteering please contact President Lee Price, if possible by June 25th so that T-shirts can be ordered in time.

5/11/10 Many thanks to the Zebulon Fire Department for hosting our May association meeting, and to MES / 5.11 for sponsoring the meal and door prizes.

5/11/10We have new items for sale sporting our Association logo, including coffee mugs and embroidered patches. Click the "For Sale" button on the menu for photos and prices.

5/11/10The August meeting will be held on Tuesday 8/10/10 (B-shift) at the Raleigh Civic & Convention Center (500 S. Salisbury Street). We will not be serving a meal that night, and will be having a very short business meeting starting at 6:30p. From 7p - 10p, Dave Dodson will give an abbreviated version of his famous Art of Reading Smoke presentation. We hope to have a big crowd at the August meeting, so please help spread the word!

5/11/10 The application deadline for the 2010 firefighter scholarship has been extended to 7/15/10, and we will be awarding the scholarships at the August 10th meeting. Here are the downloadable instructions and the application form. There are also several other scholarship opportunities from various organizations:

	Triad Equipment supplied many of the door prizes at the February 2010 WCFA meeting. They also show their support by offering a discount to firefighters on rentals and purchases.
Photo by Mike Legeros	Globe sponsored the November 2009 WCFA meeting by funding the supper and providing numerous door prizes. The premium prize was a set of their new G-XCEL turnout gear, awarded in a raffle drawing to one lucky winner.
	Thanks to Newton's Fire & Safety Equipment, Inc. for supporting the association by providing some great door prizes for our meetings, including a fire helmet, flashlights, and other equipment.
